Shadowrun 5e

Mission 6: Sinclair

Usher contacts the team with another job offer:

The team is to pick up a package from a contact and deliver it to a dead drop location inside the walk-in freezer of the first floor of a high-class hotel/restaurant without being noticed. Package will be available this coming Sunday morning and delivery is expected by midnight on Thursday of the same week. Sounds simple enough.

Primary Objective: Deliver package to the dead-drop location, undetected. Payment: 10k nuyen each. If the staff is suspicious of your team’s actions during the mission, the mission will be considered a failure. Once the drop is completed, contact the Johnson directly and let them know it’s done. Contact information for the Johnson will be provided at the start of the mission.

First floor of the establishment is open 24/7 with the staff workings in 8-hour shifts. All exterior doors and windows have maglocks (rating 4). All interior doors are maglock rating 3. There are six cameras on the first floor but their locations are not provided with your mission dossier. There are three doormen (one per shift) that check the credentials of the hotel guests in the foyer (location 1 on map) before allowing access into the hotel. The second entrance (location 2 on map) has a rating 6 maglock on it along with a breath-based DNA scanner for VIP guests. The hotel is three stories tall with the second and third floors containing only hotel rooms and VIP suites. The system runs a wireless network for guests that is not connected to the security system and tracks guests via RFID tags sprayed on them when entering at location 1 or 2 of the map. The security system is monitored by a single dedicated spider. There are no magical defenses on site.

Three events are happening this week that your team may either want to either avoid or use to your advantage:

1) A wedding, being held in the southern ballroom (location 18) next Tuesday at 5pm with an estimated 25 guests and 5 staff in attendance.

2) The hotel is throwing an annual employee party on Wed at midnight, for all off-duty employees. An additional 125 guests are expected.

3) A local high school is having a formal prom dance in the north and south ballrooms (location 18 & 19), 7pm to 10pm on Thursday. An estimated 275 guests and 40 staff are expected.

Mission 5: Pimp Problems

A local high-demand prostitute named Short Stack has contacted the team and requested their assistance in dealing with a complicated problem in her area. A number of her regular clients have suddenly committed a number of unprovoked crimes including robbery, assault, and murder without any prior violent tendencies or history of instability. Without exception, within 24 hours of the crimes being committed the person(s) involved in the crime have been found dead. To make matters worse, some of the deranged clients were members of Usher’s organization and they used the newly distributed weaponry in their crimes. Unsurprisingly, this has hurt Short Stack’s reputation and she has dropped to the number two prostitute in her area as a result.

Your mission is to track these individuals down, determine the cause of their behavior, and deal with whoever or whatever is responsible accordingly. Short Stack will be accompanying you on this mission, per her request.

Primary Objective: Short Stack must survive until the job is completed. She will be continuing her normal rounds while the mission is going on and if she don’t get laid, you don’t get paid.

Secondary Objective: Determine what’s going on and deal with it.

Tertiary Objective: If possible, take some of the heat off Usher for his use of the prototype weaponry

Pay and additional rewards will be determined based on the team’s results and actions during the mission, including how many clients Short Stack is able to successfully interact with during this time.

Mission 4: Bodyguard Duty

A wealthy member of the local Yakuza branch is about to have a falling out with a number of his associates and requires a discrete team to oversee his safety until the matter has been resolved to his satisfaction.

The client plans to stay in his primary residence (Rosecliff) for the duration of the operation. The house is in a highly defensible location and has a number of security features installed that will aid you in the event of an attack on the residence, though the client is not willing to disclose the entirety of his security grid unless necessary. The team decker will have access to the site’s tacnet, sensor and camera grid, one geosynchronous satellite feed, and some of the more basic security features of the house.

The client expects his disagreement to be concluded within 48 hours of your arrival on-site. Please note that all land visible in the attached photo is considered on Mitsuhama corporate property. Local police and security forces will not be available to assist you. DocWagon has authorization to retrieve an injured member of your team, but only if they are at least 100 meters away from the main residence building.

Primary Objective: 20k nuyen per person if the client is uninjured at the end of the 48 hour period. If injured, 10k nuyen. An additional payment of 3k nuyen will be awarded to the runner team as a whole if the client’s spouse is unharmed.

Secondary Objective: The client has three scheduled meetings with other parties during the time period in question. You are to inspect the arrivals, disarm them, and neutralize any openly hostile members on the residential property. Under no circumstances should an Awakened that is not part of your team enter the residence. Lethal force is authorized, but only as a last resort. Rewards for this objective will be determined by the results of your team.

Tertiary Objective: The residence is a historic landmark and the client wishes it unharmed. If there is no structural damage at the end of the time period, an additional 15k per person will be awarded.

Mission 3: Extraction

Usher wants the team to do a simple extraction. The only catches are that the target isn’t interested and the building has corp security. Target is located on the 7th floor of a business office, but not on AAA corp territory. Target is affiliated with Ares Macrotech, and will be extracted to a drop-off location to be specified after the target is acquired.

All doors have rating 3 maglocks and windows do not open to the outside. Windows are made of high-durability plastics, equivalent to concrete in strength. Sound sensors are present and gunfire (even suppressed) will set of alarms. There is no on-site spider, and there are a number of guards that patrol the floor and tower. Your target is at one of three locations: Office-711, Office-718, or Office-727.

Primary: Extract the VIP, unharmed: 10k nuyen each. If injured, pay will be reduced to 5k each.

Secondary: Capture the worker in Office 726 with similar features as the VIP. Give him the VIP’s credstick and clothing. Proceed to the roof with the worker and push him off the edge. The worker suffers from a terminal disease and his family will be well compensated by an anonymous source for their loss. Be advised: the worker is unaware of his role in your mission. Payout: 10k nuyen each.

Tertiary: Acquire workflow data from the VIP’s terminal, the current project database, and the building’s employee database. Acquisition of all three will net a 20k nuyen bonus for the decker, and a 5k nuyen bonus for the other team members. Failure of each objective will lower the payout by 7k for the decker and 2k for the team for each objective failed. No nuyen paid on a total failure.

Bonus objective: If no alarms are sounded, team will be paid an additional 10k nuyen each upon completion of the mission.

VIP dossier will follow.

Mission 2
The Office

Target: KG Construction Security

Primary objective: Raid the office, take the explosives (roughly 200kg of material). Payout: 8k nuyen each.

Secondary objective: Access security footage (likely located in Karl’s Office (2nd floor) or the Computer room (1st floor), and destroy it). 6k nuyen each.

Tertiary objective: Avoid detection. 4k nuyen each.

Opposition: 4 guards on site at all times (2 interior, 2 exterior). Other notes on provided map are accurate. Spider, ECM, and jamming are unlikely. Minimal wireless capability in the office, nearly everything is directly wired as this is an old structure predating 2040.

Payouts will be made based on completed objectives. Partial completion will result in a lower payout.

Mission 1: VR Interview

At the behest of a particularly eccentric and demanding Johnson, a fixer put together a couple of runner teams and had them face off against each other in VR after answering some rather strange questions. The winning team was to be offered a mission.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
